IT'S OFFICIAL. TEKVENTURE IS OPEN AND HOSTS FIRST WORKSHOP IN TEKVENTURE MAKER STATION

In partnership with the Allen County Public Library, Teens in grades 6-12 learned about "Rapid Prototyping" at a hands-on demonstration at TekVenture's Maker Station. Participants learned about process of turning an idea created in computer space into a real thing in this 2-part workshop offered free to library patrons.After touring the TekVenture Maker Station and learning about equipment used in the design to fabrication cycle, participants saw the simple object they designed produced into the real thing.

FREE CHAIN REACTION CHALLENGE WORKSHOP COMING SOON

Have you always wanted to build a Rube Goldberg-type contraction?  Now's your chance.  Come to the Downtown ACPL March 24, 2-4 pm as the TekVenture Design Team will share tips and techniques for building a better machine.  The 5th Annual Chain Reaction Challenge is Saturday, April 24 at the Downtown ACPL.  We'll pull the string on the first machine at 2:00 pm so get there early so you can see all the work that goes into these one-of-a-kind links in our community chain reaction.

JOIN US AT TEKVENTURE MAKER STATION OPEN HOUSE

On Thursday, March 1 - 5:00 - 8:00 pm, the public is welcome to visit the TekVenture Maker Station to see what equipment is available and basic steps in the design to fabrication cycle.  

Join us at the Downtown Allen County Public Library parking lot at Webster Street and Washington Boulevard.  

Parking is free to ACPL patrons who have a library card.  All others are charged $1 per hour to park.

Eat, Drink and Celebrate at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art

"Eat, Drink and Celebrate" the 24 foot tall kinetic sculpture chandelier built by Sayaka Ganz, Jim Merz and the TekVenture Crew is on exhibit at the Museum of Art as part of the Artist Member's Show. The show runs from Dec. 17, 2011 - Jan. 29, 2012.

The Maker Station is Open!

TEKVENTURE MAKER STATION PREVIEW

Hours: Thursdays 1 -7 PM , Fridays 1 - 6 PM, Saturdays 9 - 1 PM  

Where: South Parking lot of the downtown Public Library, Washington at Webster streets.

Greg Jacobs, President of TekVenture, and Jeff Krull, Director of the Allen County Public Library, 

invite all library staff, patrons and interested members of the public to preview the TekVenture 

Maker Station which is currently parked in the parking lot immediately to the South of the 

Downtown Library.
