3 D PRINTING Mar 1
The hottest, fastest and possibly cheapest tool for rapid prototyping your designed object is 3D printing. Learn the basic set up, programming and operation of the 3D printing tool in the morning session. Print an existing design or your own CAD-generated file. In the afternoon session, continue developing your 3D printing skills as well as learning how to trouble-shoot the printer: what works and what doesn't work.

MACHINING Mar 8
THIS WORKSHOP HAS BEEN POSTPONED; STAY TUNED FOR NEW DATES
Metal prototypes or parts for prototypes can be made using the milling machine, lathe, drill press and molding machines. In this all-day workshop learn to set up and operate the machine tools in the TekVenture Maker Station: turn or mill stock, drill and bore, tram, offset, taper, thread and rout among other operations. Includes a brief introduction to use of CAM (Computer Aided Manufacture) and the "G code" language used by machines to make your prototype. The workshop also explores molding as a means of making multiples of your design prototype. Try injection plastic molding and vacuum forming tools and processes. Explore the relationship between the machining of molds and the production of objects from machined molds.
