INVENTORS' SUMMER WORKSHOPS

Looking for someplace to ramp up your invention geek this Summer?  Check out the

INVENTORS' WORKSHOPS @ TekVenture Maker Station & Downtown Allen County Public Library.

Inventors Workshops are places where inventors bring together the parts, tools, materials and

expertise to invent stuff and turn visions and ideas into working models. Workshop participants will explore

"prototyping" or making models of inventions in 2 and 3 dimensions using a wide variety of tools,

materials and media from digital to fire! Learn from the expert makers how to become an expert maker!

Inventors Workshops  begins with a series of DIGITAL DESIGN & MACHINING workshops explaining how to

take ideas for inventions from the “vision” to computer drawings to files to machines that can make prototype

models of those “visions”.  In other workshops aspiring inventors explore various inventing themes. AIRBORNE

workshops explore making ring kites, the mechanics and flying of model helicopters and making pneumatic rockets

and launchers. SPARKS fly in workshops  learning about Arduinos, microcontrollers, basic electricity and

electronics, and learning how to solder.  HOT STUFF workshops feature prototyping for vacuum forming

personalized cookie molds and injection molding jewelry parts as well as welding and brazing and an exclusive

Welding for Women workshop.

Flaming Working Glass Studio, the only off-site workshop, takes place at noted local glass artist Eran Parks’

GlassPark Studio at 4037 South Wayne Ave. BOTS & ROBOTS workshops participants use EggBot and OstrichBot

drawing machines and robotic arms and pickers, and bring their own robots to interact with others in the Robot

Roundup

TekVenture is Out of Space and We Need Your Help

The Downtown Allen County Public Library is a generous and gracious landlord, however, it's time for TekVenture to grow.

Please take a few moments to complete the TekVenture Maker Survey that will help in our space planning.  The results will help us to determine what machines you could use while building your projects and will help us to figure out how much space we need now and into the future.

In the meantime, thank you so much for supporting TekVenture and our many projects and programs.
